These are non cancerous growths in the cervix or in the lining of the Uterus ( Womb). They can usually be identified at transvaginal USS or during the procedure known as hysteroscopy. Hysteroscopy is a method by which a telescope is passed in to the uterine lining and will enable the removal of these polyps. The procedure is often performed under a light general anaesthetic. All samples are sent for microscopic analysis (histopathology) to ascertain there is no other pathology involved.
